Hike to Smarna Gora

Today was a late morning for many of us after having a late night out the night before, but myself and six others decided to go on the hike today with Gasper and his sister. We drove about 15 minutes to the base of the area, and hiked for about 30 minutes to reach the top.

It was well worth the effort for the view we received at the top. Today was much clearer than our last hiking trip and the visibility into the mountains was outstanding. This mountain is a common place for many locals to hike with a scenic restaurant and bar on the top. There is also an very old church located at the top, but it was unfortunately closed and we could not see the architecture inside. All of us tried the fried dough before our walk back down to the car.

The rest of the day relaxed and many of us headed into town for dinner and to walk around. In Slovenia Sunday is a day of rest and shops are not open, only restaurants and markets are open though sometimes only for part of the day. We embraced the culture and are taking the day to rest for the next week.
